Certification

CSCR currently offers two Recognition Programs.

High School Course Recognition: CSCR collaborates with area high school principals and science department chairs to create the pathway by which students may petition the school to recognize or credit the student work performed at CSCR.

This is our “54 Hour” Portfolio Program.

Fifty-four hours is the number of hours that a students spends in a typical science class over a 9 week period, or one quarter (one term) of the school year.

Stream to Sanctuary Certificate of Stewardship: In collaboration with Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary (SBNMS), CSCR has created a pathway for students to earn recognition from a federally-funded program managed by scientists at NOAA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Students who have successfully completed their 54 hour portfolio begin to work on their “Stream to Sanctuary” Portfolio.

Our Stream to Sanctuary Program is the pathway to being hired as a CSCR college intern. (Rising freshmen who have earned the Stream to Sanctuary Certificate are eligible for hire as college interns.)
